Greetings bookish friends! For today’s post, I will be reviewing Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I know, the book is older now, and the hype has died, but I feel the need to write the review anyway. I hope that you enjoy!

I had extremely high expectations of this book. I have heard from so many people and so many blogs that this book was amazing. I also heard that the movie was good as well. *I can’t wait to watch it* It had been on my TBR list since the dawn of time and I was so happy to finally be reading it.
I enjoyed the first few chapters of the book. It went along smoothly, and the flow was so good that I felt like Jacob was telling me the story himself.
The plot and pacing were both awesome. I couldn’t put Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children down! The story was engaging and exciting, with turns and twists nestled into between each chapter. The writing style was also admirable.
Ah, the characters! *Might just be my favorite part of the book* All of them were so unique peculiar in their own way. I loved the back story around Abe and Emma, and how it circled back to Jacob.
The vintage photographs added an eerie sensation while reading the novel that couldn’t be topped. I think that the idea of putting in photographs that go along with the story is creative and different, which makes this novel stand out even more.
Of course, with all of the positive things I have to say about this book, it was a very enjoyable read.
The story started off a little bit slow at first, but then eventually speed up to a page-turning mystery that I couldn’t put down.

All in all, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was a wonderful first installment. (There are three more books in the series, which I haven’t read yet but is definitely on my TBR list).
I was amazing in almost every aspect of my rating system, and did not disappoint. The only thing that I would every change about this book is to have the pacing be faster in the beginning, but it would have likely been difficult because the start of the book sets the stage for all of the plot twists in the middle and end.
I strongly recommend this book, especially to those who like horror, mystery, or a unique book in general.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life – and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.
I had high expectations of this book because I had heard so many wonderful things about it. I read the synopsis and it sounded interesting as well.
In my personal opinion, the best thing about Fangirl was the characters. They were all a quirky and unique set of people who progressed through the story beautifully. I genuinely admired each character, even those who were supposed to be bad in the beginning, like Courtney or Reagan. All of the characters seemed to have their own back story and personal story arc that added a lot of flavor and spice to the novel. In short, the character development was phenomenal.
The climax happens 100 pages before the book actually ends. I found this kind of surprising, and at first I was expecting an ever bigger twist at the end.
The character development was incredible. Through the storyline and plot, all of the characters grow in some way or another. All of them had their own unique struggles and all overcame them in different ways. Multiple characters *cough cough Albert and Shea* started off stereotypical and basic, but then ended up being complex, original characters with life, motivation, and struggles.
